Reimagining a product category

The QuantaLife QX100 is a Droplet Digital PCR system developed by QuantaLife. It's a system designed for highly accurate and precise quantification of target DNA molecules. 

Driven Innovation was tasked with taking the laboratory bench top systems, the Droplet Generator and the Droplet Reader, and creating a production product for mass use.

This required extensive user interface design. Creation of the product aesthetic, and working with Quantalife’s in-house engineering teams to fit all the internal components into the fully custom product enclosure.

The result; a successful product system sale and more than a decade long product lifespan.

Bench top space is a valuable commodity in laboratories. It is exactly for this reason that Driven designed a retractable door. By moving back into the device, the door did not take up any additional space.

The retractable door, besides being incredibly cool (the round shape visually represented the “droplet”) also limited user access to only the required areas for proper product usage.
